The ceremony to celebrate the laying of the first stone took place on October 25th, 2007 in the presence of partners, strategic partners, clients, and special guests.
The following dignitaries were seated at the head table:
José Luis Salinas, representing the company Arquitectura y Diseño SCGMTD and the Grupo Inmobiliario del Parque
Johnny Araya, Mayor of the City of San José
Luis Sánchez H., President and CEO of VIP Holding Co.
Christopher Wege, Vice-President of VIP Holding Co.
Rev. Fr. Leonel Chacón, who gave the blessing.
Mr Wege read the parchment that was laid with the first stone, the dedication reading as follows: “On this October 25th, 2007, VIP Holding Co. directors and employees, accompanied by the Mayor of the City of San José, Johnny Araya, architect José Luis Salinas and the Rev. Fr. Leonel Chacón Mesén; with great delight we dedicate this building to Peter M. Wege and to the Wege Foundation for their outstanding efforts in conserving the beautiful environment of Costa Rica and throughout the world.”
Construction and sales have already started, and are expected to terminate in early 2009
